Auto Show 2026
Route 66 Centennial Exhibition
In 2026, the Detroit Auto Show is the "home" destination for a cross-country project previously designated as an Official Route 66 Centennial Activity: It is called The Drive Home VII: Route 66 – A Century of Adventure.

The Detroit Auto Show aims to further celebrate the Route 66 Centennial by showcasing the vintage vehicles of The Drive Home caravan in a dedicated exhibition on the Auto Show floor in Detroit.
Following their arrival in the Motor City, the vehicles will be installed as a featured exhibition for the entire duration of the 2026 Detroit Auto Show—melding the spirit of the cross-country drive with an immersive experience at the Auto Show itself.
The Exhibit will feature an extraordinary mix of vehicles from The Drive Home caravan, which showcases the evolution of American automotive design and culture. Vehicles highlighted will include, among others:
This featured element will take center stage at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show — presenting a living exhibition and a bridge between generations — celebrating how cars have shaped travel, community, and innovation for more than a century on Route 66.
The Detroit Auto Show: Route 66 Centennial Exhibition will be on display for the full duration of the show, allowing attendees to experience the vehicles up close and reflect on the craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural importance that continue to drive the industry forward.
After the Show, the exhibit will become part of a major, year-long exhibit at America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, WA.
