Gathering of Nations
PowWow 2026

April 24-25, 2026 there will be a Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, NM at Expo New Mexico.


This culturally diverse event features an array of activities designed to evoke the experience of living in and traveling through New Mexico.

This includes musical performances, traditional dances, and presentations that honor the Centennial of Route 66, reflecting the road’s role in connecting the country through its rich culture and adventurous spirit.

Participants will travel from Route 66 states spanning from Illinois to California—including Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arizona—representing hundreds of tribes, coming together to share their unique Route 66 story.

Main Street Activities

Main Street at Expo NM will be transformed for the two-day event, showcasing a classic car show and décor inspired by the original Route 66 along Central Avenue. 
Visitors will also enjoy Native American elements such as art, crafts, food, dance, and song. A recreated teepee village will offer a space for quiet reflection, reminiscent of times gone by. 

Immersive Cultural Experience 

The project encourages attendees to extend their travels and adventures across New Mexico, while immersing themselves in Native American Indigenous culture at the Gathering of Nations Powwow. With over 2,000 Native American participants, the event provides a unique opportunity for guests to experience the traditions and artistry of Indigenous communities.
