To honor Route 66's major role in the history of the United States, the U.S. Route 66 Centennial Commission formally requested that the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee issue a commemorative stamp in 2026 to recognize the road's Centennial. That request has been acted on!

U.S. Postal Service Provides Sneak Peek at 2026 Stamps: Celebrating 100 Years of Route 66

The Route 66 stamp pane will feature 16 stamps showcasing photographs by David J. Schwartz of "Pics on Route 66", each depicting scenes from one of the eight states the historic route passes through — Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
